How much does it cost to sign up for Gigmax?

A free account includes 4 GB (4096 MB) of storage space. With a payment plan, you can increase your storage to 25 GB, 50 GB, 150 GB, or 500 GB. All plans can be viewed on our sign up page.Which types of files can I store in my Gigmax?
You can store any type of file you want as long as you are the rightful owner of it (i.e. no pirated music). For more information, refer to our Terms of Service. What happens when I fill my allotted storage space in My Gigmax?
When your maximum storage space is reached, you will no longer be able to upload new files. You may either delete existing files or choose to upgrade your account. To upgrade your account, login and go here. How secure is my data? Is it encrypted?
Each file saved on the Gigmax servers is encrypted with secure socket layers, SSL (AES-256 bit encryption and enforces 2048-bit CSR encryption). Whether you are transferring, storing, or editing a file, the information within is private and secure. We guarantee it.Why do some of my files/folders have an icon with a green check mark over them?
A green checkmark will appear to let users know their files/folders have properly synced with their Gigmax accounts. Only when the green icon is visible is the file/folder properly synced online and with other computers. Why do some of my files/folders have an icon with red arrows over them?
A file/folder with a red arrow on its icon is not synced with your Gigmax account. Any changes you make to the file/folder will not be saved across other computers with which you are synced. Changes will not appear on Gigmax.com either. Often, after you click "sync folder," the folder will have a red arrow on it as it works to sync all the files within it. Syncing time varies, and a green check mark will appear when it finishes. Why do some of my files/folders have a blue arrow rather than a green check over them?
To save storage space on your computer, folders saved within a synced computer are not automatically downloaded to other synced computers. This means any changes to the document will not be saved across synced devices. To sync the file or folder, right click and select "Download" under Gigmax. The blue arrow will turn to a green check mark. Then, the file will be the same as other synced files and folders. Why is it taking so long for my files to upload?
If you are uploading larger files (typically files that are more than a few MB in size), they will take longer to upload. Nothing can be done to prevent/shorten the long uploading time. Upload time will vary depending on the speed of your internet connection. Please note: All files will upload successfully at a reasonable rate. How is the date modified determined?
Whether you edit the file online, on your desktop, or on another computer, the date modified will reflect the time of the most recent change. How do I sync a folder on my computer with my Gigmax?

The files will be available anywhere you have access to Gigmax. Can files saved to My Gigmax share the same name?
If the files are saved in different locations, then of course they can share a name. However, built-in checks will prevent that from occurring within the same folder. If I delete a file online, will it be deleted on my computer?
Yes, if you delete a synced file online or on your desktop, the file will be deleted everywhere else it is saved. Please note the difference between "Unsync" and "Delete": If you delete a file, it is removed from all your computers and the web. If you unsync a folder, the files within are no longer accessible except on the computer where they were originally stored. If I reorganize my synced files on my computer, will it affect how the files are structured online? Vice versa?
Yes, that is the beauty of Gigmax. When you move a file from one folder to another in your Gigmax, that change will be reflected online. The same is true the other way around - if you move files around on the web, the changes will be reflected on your computer(s) accordingly. What is the difference between making a file public and making a file private?
If you choose to make a file public, anyone can see it and download it. If you make a file private, only you can view it. Please note that all files, except photo albums, are private by default. You also have the ability to share folders.
